III. Discern Heresy According to Scripture and Guard Against False Teaching

Today many people think, "As long as someone talks about Jesus, it is Christianity; as long as someone quotes the Bible, there is no problem."

However, the Bible repeatedly warns us that the greatest danger of heresy is not that it ignores Scripture, but that it misuses Scripture.

Therefore, we must not only read Scripture, but also understand it correctly.

I. Guard the True Faith

"Timothy, guard what God has trusted to you. Stay away from foolish, useless talk and from the arguments of what some people wrongly call 'knowledge.'"

Paul calls the gospel "what God has trusted to you."

This means that truth is not invented by us but entrusted by God to His church.

二、假先知会披着羊皮出现

II. False Prophets Come in Sheep's Clothing

马太福音 7:15-20（和合本）

"你们要防备假先知。他们到你们这里来，外面披着羊皮，里面却是残暴的狼。

凭着他们的果子，就可以认出他们来。荆棘上岂能摘葡萄呢？蒺藜里岂能摘无花果呢？

这样，凡好树都结好果子，惟独坏树结坏果子。

好树不能结坏果子；坏树不能结好果子。

凡不结好果子的树，就砍下来，丢在火里。

所以，凭着他们的果子，就可以认出他们来。

"Be careful of false prophets. They come to you looking gentle like sheep, but they are really dangerous like wolves.

You will know these people by what they do. Grapes do not come from thornbushes, and figs do not come from thorny weeds.

In the same way, every good tree produces good fruit, but a bad tree produces bad fruit.

A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot produce good fruit.

Every tree that does not produce good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

So you will know these people by what they do."

Explanation

耶稣没有说假先知很容易认出来。

Jesus did not say that false prophets are easy to recognize.

They do not wear wolf's clothing; they wear sheep's clothing.

III. Be on Guard So That You Are Not Led Astray

彼得后书 3:17（和合本）

"亲爱的弟兄啊，你们既然预先知道这事，就当防备，恐怕被恶人的错谬诱惑，就从自己坚固的地步上坠落。

2 Peter 3:17 (NCV)

"Dear friends, you already know about this. So be careful that you are not led away by the error of evil people and lose your own safe position."

Explanation

彼得提醒信徒，不要以为自己永远不会受迷惑。

Peter reminds believers not to assume they can never be deceived.

越属灵的人，越应当谦卑警醒。

The more spiritually mature we become, the more humble and watchful we should be.

异端最大的特点，就是慢慢偏离真理。

One of the greatest characteristics of heresy is gradual departure from the truth.

开始的时候，偏差可能很小。

At first, the error may seem very small.

但是长期下来，就会离圣经越来越远。

But over time, it leads farther and farther away from Scripture.

四、改革宗辨别异端的几个原则

IV. Reformed Principles for Discerning Heresy

第一，坚持唯独圣经。

First, Hold to *Sola Scriptura*.

任何人的启示，都不能高过圣经。

No person's revelation can stand above Scripture.

第二，高举基督，不高举人。

Second, Exalt Christ, Not Human Leaders.

真正的教师会带领人跟随基督。

A true teacher leads people to follow Christ.

假教师却常常叫人跟随自己。

False teachers often lead people to follow themselves.

第三，看整个圣经，而不是单独几节经文。

Third, Interpret the Whole Bible, Not Isolated Verses.

异端最喜欢断章取义。

Heresies often take verses out of context.

改革宗强调：以经解经。

The Reformed faith emphasizes interpreting Scripture with Scripture.

第四，看教义是否符合历代正统信仰。

Fourth, Compare Doctrine with Historic Orthodox Christianity.

神没有让真理消失两千年。

God has not allowed the truth to disappear for two thousand years.

真正符合圣经的教义，与历代正统教会是一致的。

Doctrine that truly agrees with Scripture will also agree with the historic orthodox church.

《比利时信条》第七条说："圣经完全包含神的旨意，凡人得救所当信的一切，都已充分记载在其中。任何人的著作，无论作者多么圣洁，都不能与神圣经相提并论。

Article 7 of the Belgic Confession teaches: "Holy Scripture fully contains the will of God, and everything one must believe to be saved is sufficiently taught in it. Therefore, no human writings, however holy their authors may have been, can be placed on the same level as Holy Scripture."

加尔文说："圣灵从不离开祂自己默示的话语。凡离开圣经而宣称有新的启示，都应当受到谨慎查验。

John Calvin wrote: "The Holy Spirit never departs from the Word He Himself inspired. Anyone claiming new revelation apart from Scripture must be carefully tested."
